Coast Guard, good Samaritan medevacs 1 near Indian River, Del.

INDIAN RIVER, Del. — The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan medevaced a man from a 24-foot recreational boat after he suffered an arm injury eight miles east of here, Tuesday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 3:45 p.m. from the man reporting he suffered a wound to his arm while fishing and needed assistance.

A good Samaritan aboard the fishing boat Porgy IV arrived on scene and transferred a crewmember to the injured man's boat to operate the boat back to shore.

A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Indian River arrived on scene and treated the man while transporting him back to the station where he was transferred to emergency medical personnel.
