| I use the 3 free ones and I also use the 1 n 3 day composite. I match up the temps with the salinity to make sure I know where the break should be. The actual temps can be off by a bunch just by a tide swing or change of wind direction There is a tutorial that exp[lains the difference from the 3 sats Modis is the daily you should use. Geos is more acurrat when it gets the shot but the cloud filter isn't a good and the AVHRR is the most acurrate when it can see but it's filter for clouds n such is the least effective |

The Seaview SSTs are more detailed. They have a .6 nm per pixal where the free ones are 1.2 nm per pixal (If I recall correctly)
More or less they are higher res.
Rich you got is close but....
Modis = Decent Cloud filter, Decent Resolution
GEOS = Good Cloud Filter , So So Resolution
AVHRR= Crappy Cloud filter, Excellent Resolution
Seaview SST = Decent Cloud Filter, Excellent Resolution
Day in and Day Out Modis is the way to go in the Free Stuff
The Seaview Most Recent SSTs are single Pass.
The 1 day composites are the way to go for day in day out. Then use the single passes for specific areas.
