Spiny dogfish quota almost reached for year

The Associated Press

Posted Aug. 29, 2011, at 5:25 a.m.

CONCORD, N.H. — Fishery officials in New Hampshire and Maine are reminding fishermen that the quota for spiny dogfish being harvested this year in the northern region will be reached by the end of the month.

Officials said as a result the dogfish fishery will be closed Thursday.

The fishery won’t reopen before May 1.
